BCN EVENT IN MARCH & April! Bird Monitoring Workshops!
The BCN, in cooperation with Chicago-area FPDs, bird clubs, and a variety of conservation societies, will offer a series of bird monitoring workshops on Saturday afternoons in March and April. These will include instructions for new and prospective monitors and much more: brush-up sessions on songs and calls by Carolyn Fields, Ann Haverstock, Conrad Fialkowsi and Kurt Leslie or Geoff Williamson; discussions of best practices by some of our most experienced monitors; planning for cooperation between monitors, land managers, and stewards; county updates about on-the-ground projects – and even more. These workshops should prove valuable to anyone interested in bird habitat conservation.

All are welcome to learn about this project. If you have questions or plan to attend, please contact Judy Pollock: 847-965-1150, ext 21 or chicagowildthings@yahoo.com. Updated information about the workshops can be found on the BCN website (
